The Kansas Lottery is temporarily not issuing personal awards

The Kansas lottery has temporarily held personal claims due to an increase in Covid-19 cases in the state. Customers will need to collect prizes via mail until further notice. Customers who wish to redeem their winnings from a winning ticket will now need to do so by mail.

Any prize of more than 600 $ must pass through the lottery office. This process requires customers to fill out the reverse side of the ticket, sign it, and mail it with a printed claim form. Forms can be printed from the lottery website or from the Kansas Lottery terminal at a retail outlet.

The operator recommends that customers send their tickets by registered mail and have the tickets photographed or scanned before shipment.

The Kansas Lottery reports: "The Lottery thanks everyone for understanding and asks everyone to stay safe and wash their hands!"

Gambling activity in other states has also been reduced due to the increase in Covid-19 cases. Lawmakers in Nevada have lowered the capacity cap for casinos.

Starting today (Tuesday, November 24, 2020), the capacity limit for casinos and other venues will be cut in half, meaning that the facilities will only be able to operate at 25 percent. The new restrictions will be in place for at least three weeks to combat the recent surge in coronavirus cases in the state.
