Sportradar signs a broadcasting agreement with Australian NBL

Sportradar announced a new partnership with Australia's Hungry Jack's National Basketball League (NBL) for Global Broadcast Rights and Overriding Media Services (OTT).

The cooperation will begin with the upcoming NBL season, which will start in mid-January next year.

Through the agreement, Sportradar will work to improve the distribution and coverage of NBL's media rights on broadcasting and internet platforms.

The sports betting data company will also power the OTT platform of the basketball league, which will eventually include NBL1 matches for the first time.

With the aim of ensuring the integrity of the league, Sportradar will also become an official integrity partner of the NBL. As part of this partnership, the company will provide odds monitoring services in Australia's top basketball leagues to detect any betting irregularities.

Commenting on the deal, David Edwards, director of Sports Media and Partnerships - Oceania, at Sportradar, said: "There is no doubt that NBL has quickly become one of the best basketball leagues in the world, with a perfect mix of native and imported talent across the board." .

"Sportradar is looking forward to expanding NBL's global reach with our technology-driven, data-driven approach to rights distribution and helping the league to unlock new trade partnerships and the opportunities that come with this increased commitment."

In response, NBL's commercial director, Brad Joyne, expressed his excitement to work with Sportradar to expand NBL's "sphere of influence".
